Default Diamond Lake

Visited with Diamond Lake operator at Eugene Sportsman Show yesterday. Estimating a real early breakup(Late April)..says only 2' snow at this time when should have 6'. About 6" ice on lake and not of good quality., So, could be fun early this year!

Its been a very mild winter. I hope the ice is gone by the time it opens. I plan on fishing and camping there alot this year.

I fished D Lake early on last year and it seemed the fish were hanging deep and not moving around till mid summer time. I love using light gear and trolling on the lake, even though it's not always as productive as fishing off the bottom.

I also love trolling at Diamond. Try a small spoon flatlined way back. Works best when there is a light wind chop on the water. Last fall I trolled around the boats still fishing at the south end and did well. Cant wait to get back to it.
