Default Lurker gone active

Just wanted to get aboard, been a very active lurker for the past 4 yrs since, one last cast, turned me on to this GREAT site. Here goes the first post/newbee story. Was in persuit of the monster trout and left over steelies at one of my favorit lakes from childhood. LOST LAKE,(coast range), now this has been a place to catch brood trout and left overs for many years. I can remember many years of travel to this lake when it took a "dirt bike" or old "willys" to even get there....so I took my self and the brand new "Spring Creek" pram up to see if I could hog tie a few of the left overs on the lite sruff. Well most of the afternoon was a great catcha and release trip with several steelies caught on the "lost lake special" old school flatfish better known as white death. It really works well in the throat of the figure 8. Well, all humorus stories have a starting point and this is the point when I learned NOT to have a over size trolling battery in an 8' wooden pram. You'd think wood would float no matter what but, as I leaned over to reach and release another sweet, lost lake hold over the battery went with me, sliding across the bottom of the boat, and I very suddenly found myself afloat/ floundering in the middle of Lost Lake....It only takes a second to fill a small craft and with the battery acting as an anchor, down she went.Just call me BOB. Thank Goodness for one other boater on the lake, as I waved and bobbed ther in pure embarrasment this fine gentelman and his son came to my aid and floated me to shore. Where by the returned me to the boat launch and home ward bound I went....some what laughing and some what ****ed by my oversite...Well to make the story shorter I recuited a couple friends from work and the scuba gear necessary to do a full on salvage operation, the wooden submarine was rescued along with the all the gear still laying about the boat on the bottom. Then to top things off, the dern rod which was in the rod holder at the time of the sinking still had that fish on and was safely landed and released by one of the divers retrieving all the sunken "treasure". It's a amazing what a couple of bottles of Crown Royal can buy a guy.Divers and a great adventure right her at home in the coast range....Who needs the Navy...(I'm a 6yr vet) Tight lines to all, and I'll see you out there springer fishing, Going tomorrow..... :-)

Great story! I bet that fish was getting kind of fed up with being leashed like that.
