Default Who makes the best.........?

Who makes the best scale with which to weigh fish? I've had two and one of them just quit working (yeah, I checked the battery...) and the other one is just innaccurate, either too heavy or too light. Both cost around $20 and had these buttons that always got pushed so on the rare occasion I caught a fish, when I would try to weigh it the battery would be dead.

The stren digital scale works good and calibrates out ok, just keep them dry. I'm on my third one due to being left out in the rain. Cabelas sells some good looking spring scales but they are kind of spendy and i've never tried one... Joe

I have had three of the digitals and they have all broken one way or another. GI Joes carries a great stainless spring loaded scale that seems very accurate and durable. It costs around $40.00 but thats less than I have invested in the digital crap.

Chatillion (spelling?) supposedly makes an excellent scale. I think they are available in 3 different weight ranges. I think Kauffmann's fly shop in Tigard sells them. Not inexpensive.

I think I want a spring scale, and I'll try to find one at a restaurant supply store......Hey O., does your pops use that scale? He's always weighing heavy fish! WR: I'll get ahold of you soon and we'll fish! Thanks for the input! Good luck!

I've got a s.s. spring scale made by Cardoza 0/60 lbs. It's very rugged, sort of hard to get a good reading in the less than 10 lbs range but it's still going after 4 years, some of it in the bilge.

Uncle Roman, when was the last time you saw my dad weigh a fish? He says that weighing and taking pictures of fish is for rookies. I guess I am a major rookie.

That's the thing, O., I never see him actually weigh the fish, he just tells me he catches fish and they weighed whatever amount......didn't I see a picture of him with a fish ON THIS BOARD?!
