Default Help with Front wheel crank

The front wheel crank on my trailer seems a little flimsy for my boat (94 Sea Ray). I went to G.I.Joes and Fishermans and they just have the same one I have. I have to hold my foot aginst the wheel to keep it from turning when I crank it and when pushing the boat around the wheel will not turn (I have to kick it). Can anyone tell me where I can ge a better one or am I just stuck with this same model?

Thanx

Mark

I'm not familiar with your area but most places that sell boats (therefore trailors as well) should have what your looking for.

MP, I think they all do that. If you need to move the boat around much, it might be good to get a tongue dolly. It's like a hand truck and it gives you pneumatic wheels and good directional control.

MP, try Custom Trl Parts, on Mcgloughlin and Ochoco. Right there in your neighborhood.

You might also try greasing the telescopic portion above the wheel. When mine gets tough to turn the wheel (or the crank) I grease it and it works much better at turning with the load on it.

Custom trailer parts is your place to get jacks or you can check at 6 Robbles in Milwaukie.

Most jacks on trailers just suck but you can find some that will do the job.

Cabelas has a few models with different weight ratings, also try the small trailer building outfits in town. There is one on Columbia Blvd in Portland that can get the parts fast, sorry I can't remember the name.
