Default How much line between lure and dodger?

Gonna do more fishing this year for Kokes. Wonder how much line should be between my lure and my dodger for best results. I know it will very but whats the typical?
Also, Do you koke-heads use snubbers? And if so does it go before the flasher or in between the flasher and lure?

Here is paste job from one of Silver Bullets posts; searched leader length.
Most kokanee fishermen use 4" dodgers, and spinners, hoochies, tubes, and spoons all work. Your leader length will depend on if the lure has any action of it's own. For hoochies and tubes around 6-12'', spinners around 18-24". and spoons around 18-36".
Snubbers NO!

One of the best things I have learned from this site is to shorten my leaders when fishing a dodger. I had always run 18-20" leaders but now run a 8-10" leader.

Dodgers are designed to impart action on the lure; the farther from the dodger the less action.

Are you fishing the Denver area or are you in the nw?

We have lots of mountain lakes which hold kokes. I assume I could also apply some of this to some of the metro lakes where we have lots of stocker trout.

Agreed, I targeted Kokes for the first time this past year and found shorter the better. At times, I even had my Seps dodger 4-5 inches from the bottom of the dodger to the top of the hootchie. Shorter the better for hootchies. If running lures that have action, say an Apex or flatfish, try a flasher set up instead. The dodger can interfere w/the action the before mention create on their own. Last, do a search here on Ifish, I know there is a ton of info on this that go even further into detail about dodger/lure combo's. Good luck, catch a ton!

Rules for kokanee fishing are like rules for english...there are always exceptions. I had some very good days last year with long leaders while fishing hoochies. I have also had good days fishing spinners with a very short leader. I think Roseanne Roseannadanna stated it correctly when it comes to kokanee fishing..."it just goes to show, you never can tell."

Thanks for that link John! Treasure I tell you! By the way, due to the new administration, feces has been delisted as endangered.

As for you, FRG [quote frg: Rules for kokanee fishing are like rules for english...there are always exceptions. ] .......... aaargh! First I think the devil is in the details. Now I KNOW the devil is in the exceptions! I think that's what I will label my 2nd kokanee tackle box... EXCEPTIONS.
