I forgot how to fish!
I can't buy a bite!
Or-- I forgot what they feel like or SOMETHING!
Please help me before I throw my rod in the water!!!
Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE to be out there, but this is becoming really frustrating!
Is it me??? It is! I know it is! I can't fish!
Wahhhhhhh!!!!
Ever had these spells?
Jen

Re: I forgot how to fish!
I know how you feel Jennie, I have only one fish on the bank this year, 15 pound, chromer hen out of the clackamas. I usually can only get one winter steelie a year so I figure the rest of the season I am just gonna go out and watch everyone else get fish. Do I have a jinx or do I just not know how to fish?

Re: I forgot how to fish!
I read with interest, this thread on Marty's board.
I'm going to fish and relearn this "deep hole" feeling...
I'm wondering, of all the steelies I have hooked while drifting, how many hooked themselves, and I really don't know how to feel that bite.
I asked Bill, when he hooked up last night, how the fish bit. He took his finger and barely touched the palm of my hand.
Oh! I see! So I'm stupid! I have lost 56 zillion hits!!!!
I bet I have!

Re: I forgot how to fish!
out of the dozen or so fish i've actually banked in the last couple of years, i can honestly say that i've felt the bite on only about two. the rest of the time, they've hooked themselves. this is why it is of the utmost importance to keep those hook points sharp.

Re: I forgot how to fish!
It's Ok Jen, I was having a great year until this weekend. Went to the coast and fished the Necanicum. It rained hard on Friday night and the river was dirtied up a bit on Saturday. Fished hard for 4 hours in the wind and rain. My hands were so cold that when I did finally get a bite, I was to slow on the reaction that I missed my only opportunity of the day. On Sunday the river looked absolutly perfect, except there were no biters! I finally gave up about 1pm and called it a weekend. However the clams were there for anyone. I have never seen it so good on clatsop beaches. That was good to see!
