Default Another new guy here

I've been watching all of the other new guys introduce themselves, so I thought I should do the same. I have been watching this board for a while now, and I really like all of the good information. I am an Oregon native, but I have only been into fishing for a few years. I have two daughters (7 and 3) and one more girl on the way in April. They love to go powerbaiting with me fo trout (although the young one always things the stringer of fish is a "pet" and tries to walk them like a dog along the shoreline).

As for the big fish - I have caught a few Salmon but nothing else. I have been out pretty much every weekend this winter trying, but no luck so far. I always enjoy the day, however, and will catch one soon enough.

Anyway - I really enjoy everyone's posts and advice. When I get my first Steelie, you will be the first to know.

see ya - jeff

Welcome Blankman, keep reading the board, in between the lieing leg pulling and occasional feud there are some fine fishing bits of knowledge to be learned.

I see 2 newbies hit this thread before I did, why dont you all tell us why you chose your name, and while your at it, tell us about a fish you caught, sticking to the facts of course, especially on length and weight of that fish that may have got away.

Welcome Blankman,
I try to put a few tips on what isn't scaring all the fish away. Watch out for the others on this board tho. Squid oil????

The "choosing my name" part was easy - my last name is Blank. Imagine my childhood - growing up with the last name of Blank. An endless stream of jokes ... no wonder I am a bit warped.

As for fish stories - I don't have any great ones yet. Two of my salmon last year were from a guide trip at Bouy 10. One 10 lb silver and a 27 lb Chinook. That trip was a lot of fun. My only other fish last year was one other silver from the bank on a turnout just past Carver on the Clack. That has been my only proof to my wife that I really am going fishing when I leave at 6:00 on a Saturday morning. If come home empty handed many more times she is gonna get suspicious.

Welcome blankman, nice to see all the new members sign up. We have a great site with lots of good informative info plus a fair amount of fun thrown in. Watch out for the Bait O' man, he's always pulling something, actually, he's a regular comedian reading about his trials in life.

Enjoy and have fun,

Gregg
