Default New member with questions about jig fishing in Wilson tidewater.

This is the first time I have written on this forum but I have certainly enjoyed (and learned from)following the discussions from afar.
I have a place below 101 on the Wilson. Caught a lot of Fall Chinook right behind the house but I have never tried steelhead down low. With duck season wrapping up I am thinking about spending a couple of weeks on the Wilson to see what I can learn. I am especially thinking about trying jigs below Sollie Smith and have some questions about colors to use, type of water and what depths to fish. I also wonder how much steelhead fishing is controlled by the tide down low.
Would appreciate any suggestions

The area you're talking about will be heavily influenced by tides. Your best luck will to be on the river during a very high series of tides and catch fish as they're moving through. The same colors apply there as they do elsewhere. Pink/white/red/orange combinations will work.
