Default Sandy River?

I know very little about the lower portions (boat access areas) of the Sandy. I was looking to drift it on Sunday. My questions are: What river height should I look for? At what height is the river too high? Which drift would you recommend- Dabney to LC or Oxbow to Dabney? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably more fish between Oxbow and Dabney, plus you won't be competing with the sleds that are allowed below Dabney. The river below Oxbow is all rated novice and is pretty straight forward. The river can be floated down to about 8.7 or so(Bull Run Gauge). Today the river raised about a footto 11.2 feet, between 6:00AM and 6:00 PM. An increase from 3000 to 5000 cubic feet per second. Lots of boaters won't fish it above 11 or so. It should fish fine so long as it's dropping.
Remember, angling from boat is only allowed below the powerline crossing located 4 miles downriver from the ramp at Oxbow. Still plenty of good water to stop and drift fish on river right where bank angler access is more difficult.
