Default Clackamas fish report, what fish?

I'm asking, where's the fish? We fished hard all day Friday without a bite then got a double at the take out. We ended up with only one in the boat. This was my first Steelhead double and I was quite flabbergasted. Running the motor, fighting a fish and trying to help my brother in-law which has a 12-15 lbs fish on. This would have been his first keeper Steelie had we not caught the leader on an oar. Ouch that hurt.

Fished hard Saturday with only one bump. No fish?????? Sheesh 3-fish limit??

I'm thinking about picking up knitting. I have plenty of white, pink, and red yarn laying around!

Hope you guys did better than us.

Yes, I think the Winter Steelhead run is over. Not much happening on the Sandy, the Wilson was reported slow and now the Clack. Maybe everyone should go ahead stay home and wait for springers. If you see me out on the river I'll just be checking to make sure you're right. I'll be certain to let you know

Where we're you guys at? I hooked eight and landed six, kept the best out of the lot. Saw many more hooked by others. Fished up high below the dam.

Fished Carver to Barton today. What a nice day. River was up a little high but fishable. Had first water on my favorite hole and......nothing. Moved down......nothing.... nothing....nothing. Where are the fish? In my fish box! We got our three fish limit for four fisherman! Bang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I woke up.

We did'nt even touch a fish. Did'nt see one caught. Did see one jump though.

Best part of the day was I got to meet Snap Shot. Very nice fellow indeed. Showed him the upper river area so that he can run it himself. Hope the lesson in river survival helped. Thanks for coming along today Snap Shot. Sorry we did not get any fish.

But I don't feel so bad. Even Jerry Toman did'nt get one today. Not even a strike. Just not our day today.

C & E, I greatly appreciate the ride. I was getting concerned when I read about the Limits in the fish box. How long did I sleep? I learned a lot about the upper river slots and you, Carl and
Spencer were great hosts. I could see that Spencer was the main competition. Were you holding back because I was along? Troy won't have to work to hard it you were not holding back. I have another great secret lure and will bring it along next time. My gill net is about 45' long and I think it will cover your favorits hole from one side to the other.
Thanks Troy for the introduction. We did leave a couple fish for you, but they had some color.
Look forward to next weekend when we can all be on the river.

Thanks Snapshot. Enjoyed your company. Sorry we did not connect. Just another one of those days. We fished some great looking water but no results.

Spencer had a great time talking with you and he always enjoys meeting new fisherman. But you have to refer to him as "Shaggy". He prefers that when fishing and speaking with folks on the board.

I fished the Clack from carver to riverside Saturday and from Barton to riverside Sunday and only had two hits. Bring on the springers.

My wife and I floated from Barton to Carver Sunday afternoon. We had 3 take downs in the Slab Hole, but no hook-ups. Sharp hooks, gave them plenty of time to take bait, just don't get it. My wife finally got her first Steelhead later in drift, but it had all it's fins, and we had to release it. Oh Well, at least we had some action, I felt fortunate for that. Heard of some action up above the gravel pit on Sunday AM, one sled had 3 at Barton when we were launching @ noon.

Hey...we fished Saturday and got two really nice....uh...er...trout. Rick had one other serious takedown, but was too quick on the draw.

There are fish there, and some will dis-agree with me here, but in my own opinion, I'd say the Clack is more of a December producer.
