Default Attaching a Fish Box

I have a nice large cooler that I want to attach to the swim platform on my sled. What is the best way, product etc and where can I get it?

Not being one to spend money, I strapped a cooler onto my swim deck. I mounted tie-down eyes at the front edge of the deck next to the transom and ran nylon straps through the base of the handle on my cooler. I mounted a couple strips of indoor/outdoor carpetting on the front edge of my cooler so I can open it easily without the lid hanging up on the back of my boat. Total cost (other than the cooler) was under $5.

Do a search on this topic. There was a lengthy thread last year with lots of good advice and some links. I posted one with a link to Cabella's bracket. Good luck...

Game Chaser,

I had North River put one on for me when I got my boat. Its a metal bracket that attaches to the cooler. There is 2 spring loaded pins that go on and release easily. If you cant find it at Boaters World(Jantzen Beach) I'd call North River and order it through them. I wouldnt think it would cost all that much. Hope this helps.

Jett'in Fool...Thanks. Is that the kind that also bolts to the transom? How do you keep the cooler from swinging up, Bungies?

There is a flat metal bracket that comes off the cooler. It slides into a bracket attached to the transom. The pins push in through holes in the transom bracket. The spring pins lock the brackets together. The cooler is not going anywhere....no bungys needed. Hope I didnt confuse you  Make sure you put the bracket on the cooler latch side so you can open the cooler facing you! Also they have the 120 cooler that has a small top hatch. This is convenient to grab bait and beer quickly!!

This worked for me. Punch two holes through the swim platform about 2.5' apart. Punch two matching holes through the bottom of your cooler, after placing it in the desired spot on the platform. Run very large threaded stainless carriage bolts through each hole, from the bottom up. May want to thread some vinyl tube over the bolts to keep them in place because they will be used as alignment pegs.Lay a piece of 3" flat stock aluminum across the inside bottom of the cooler with matching holes in it (serves as a giant reinforcing washer). Then use two very large stainless wingnuts to lock the hole system down. It is a SOLID setup. No bunggees, no brackets, no shifting, and only 2 holes in your platform. Looks good. Detaches easily...I invented it!
