what is a flotilla????

i'm new here and new to stealhead fishing and would like to know what a flotilla is i see it in alot of posts and don't have a clue to what it is.

OK, take 20-30 crazy fishermen.
Get them talking a little trash about the other.
Put them all in boats.
Spend a day on the river fishing your brains out.
At the end of the day, you all go out to dinner to see who can still talk trash about the others.

oh ok so it is like a compition for bragging rights and the ability to talk trash about fellow fishermen sounds like fun but i got no boat and probably will have to work that day. ah darn it

Yes,it's all done in fun. But there's those that take there fishin' thang mighty seroiusly.

This WONT be the last one.
Just keep your eyes open for the next thread about another floatilla.

And there's nothing wrong with asking if any one has an open seat in a boat. Ya just help out with gas or bait, or what ever. You end up making a fishing buddy for life. And even better then that, you pick their brain and learn new little tips that help them hook more fish.
This will be my first one. Can't wait!!! Now all I need to dois get feeling better.

A floatilla used to be described as a good place to see RT fall down..LOL :smile: Had to throw that in. :tongue:

A floatilla is a great place to meet many of the monikers you see post, and several monikers you rarely see post.

RT and Superfly broke me on the oars in Floatilla I, so it's fairly safe to say you might learn something new while attending. Sometimes there are gifts, with Vision Hooks & Tackle handing out samples.

Great way to see new techs. and usually a good place to see Bait O' Eggs ugly (but very short :tongue: ) mug. gotcha roy.

Plenty of nice guys all around and a couple of ladies have attended in the past. I personally would like to see the single, rich, and very attractive women in their mid-20's attend these events. :grin: :grin:

I think we all learned a lot from Floatilla I; do the partying the night of the floatilla, after the fishing is done..lol

And yeah, there is some trash talkin' going on.

What is a Flotilla? Years ago as we attended our American History classes, we learned about how the British and Spanish had fleets of ships that were capable of doing battle anywhere in the world. Well, A flotilla on the Clackamas will be similar if not larger than the Spanish Armada. We may not conquor the world but we will have a great time meeting and sharing stories and tactics. Watch for another one along the way and make sure you're not scheduled to work. There is always a chance of getting into an empty boat seat on someones boat. Now that's what it is all about.
