I'm waiting for the right weather conditions to try St. Paul's pond for crappie. They should be gathered in the deep water as you mentioned. I just got my 1/64 heads together. Need a couple decent days to set the stage.

Three friends of mine have been out crappie fishing a couple times already this year. Between them they have caught over 100 so far.

Probably would get a response if you sent a PM. Unless they are catching them out of a massive lake...I know I wouldnt give out the info, unless I wanted 40 of my not-so closest friends on the same lake next week.

The crappie spots around here don't seem to be secrets. The Oregonian has ran several articles about guys catching them yearround in Portland. Ifishers have tried to encourage people to catch up some of the small crappies in St. Paul. Fern is known to hold them. Hagg apparently has some. You can get them on Brownlee this time of year. I've even heard of some in the Yamhill around here. General answers like the Willammette or Silver are adequate responses. Heck, reports about Silver's crappie are routinely reported here. It's not like we're talking about top secret intel or an endangered species. Here, let's try a case study. The crappie are on fire at St. Paul. When I go there next, I'll see if 40 people are there. But I already know, there won't be.
