Default Green Peter Lodging

Looking for a place to stay in the Green Peter area during spring break. Any campgrounds with boat launch? Wife may prefer a motel, so any info on hotels to stay at.

Thanks,
Fishy

others will know more. There is Sunnyside Campground at the east end of Foster Lake. Good facility with a nice boat ramp and fish cleaning station. It is mostly an out in the open facility. Not dark and dank. Foster is about 5 miles shy of Green Peter. I have no idea what the rates are.

Green Peter has free pull off the road camping as you approach the lake. I'd say about 7 spots or so. At some of those spots you'll need to drive to the lake but at most a mile. Iffy camping..to close to the road and a bit aggressive. Bring a dog or other. Your wife ain't gonna like it. Thistle Boat Ramp is just around the corner from those spots and when water is up, easy to launch. If not, then you'll need to pull down the same ramp and traverse a hundred yards across a clay road then down and paved ramp. Easy launch either way. Check this site http://www.coastangler.com/kokanee/ramp.htmlbefore you go. Water goes up or down often but when it does it's only by a foot or less a day

If you continue pass the Thistle entrance and drive a few more miles You'll drive over a bridge and see a few more pull outs to camp. A 1/2 mile further you'll see the entrance to Wittcomb Ramp and campsite. Water needs to be UP to use that ramp. I'm not sure what the level needs to be but if i remember correctly it's 975 or so.

I've never camped or see the campsite there. I think it's a more common camping area. Someone?

I doubt if Whitcomb camground will be open by Spring Break.

Thistle creek launch, both summer and winter ramps, are completely paved and easy to use.

Sunnyside is a great campground, all level with a play area and trout pond for the kiddies. It is managed by Linn County Parks and Rec.

There is also a resort of sorts on the main highway towards the West end of Foster res. I don't know the name but a google should turn it up.

This is a little early for kokes, but might get a few smaller ones. I would consider Foster for some nice rainbow. If not good at GP. I would recommend camping at Sunnyside..very nice and open with launch to Foster right there.

There is a motel in Sweethome (Sun Motel) (542-367-2205) or 9541-367-51370) that is moderately priced and about 15 miles from Green Peter if wifey needs a warm room with a roof.
