Default Rogue River Holy Waters

Hey guys,
Have any of you drifted the Rogue from the Holy Waters down? I was wondering what the steelhead fishing is like that far up the river?
thanks,

matt

There are three stretches of water between Cole Rivers Fish Hatchery and Touvelle State Park.

1. Hatchery to Shady Cove (~8 mi)
2. Shady Cove to Dodge Bridge (~8 mi)
3. Dodge Bridge to Touvelle (~10 mi)

The ramps are paved and well maintained. There is a tricky rapid (Rattlesnake) between Dodge and Touvelle so if you float this stretch be careful.

March is prime time for winters in the upper river. However, the system is full of summer fish (hatchery & native) now and there are some early winters above Gold Ray Dam. I've been having pretty good luck at the hatchery and between Shady and Dodge. Fish the obvious holding water slow and low with articulated patterns. I like MOAL's and Intruders. More importantly so do the fish....

Good Luck.

Won't be many summers in there in June, but by July/August there will be fish. Fish early and late, or on a cloudy day

There won't be many fish at that time but there sure will be plenty of recreational rafters, tubers, tahitis.

Especially in the section from the Hatchery to Shady Cove.
