Default Late May Lab pups

Mickey the Dam

Huntncoug's Blue the Sire hopefully

Just noticed Mickey is in heat and the timing is about perfect for pups.I have PMed Huntncoug the news as we have talked about breeding the the dogs before but I have not confirmed with him yet. I want both dogs looked at by a vet first and of coarse his blessing. I have homes for 2 pups now and would like to have homes for at least 2 or 3 more pups before I have her bread. Both dogs have good pedigrees but the pups will not be registered and an agreement that the pups will be fixed is part of the deal. I have always believed a dog should mature before being fixed but that doesn't need to be part of the deal. Mickey is an Indoor/outdoor family dog that loves everyone even cats and is very mellow. She was purchased for duck hunting. She retrieves, loves doing it but hasn't been formally trained and doesn't get to do it enough. She is very birdy, changes personality and is all business in the field. She also loves a fishing trip. First and foremost she is a constant companion. She goes to work with me almost everyday and spends a lot of time in my truck. I paid above average money for Mic because I wanted a quality, healthy dog.My hunting buddy owns her 3/4 brother Gunner. (same sire and dams sister)He has many of the same traits with a bit more energy. After hunting with that dog for the first hour of it's career with very little training I new I wanted a dog from the same lines and I wasn't disappointed. Although Gunner is a bit smaller(80ish) her Mom(over 90lbs) and dad(about 110) are big dogs and so is she. ( 90+) She has a big head, one of my favorite traits when I look for a lab and Its bigger than it appears in the pic. I am not looking for $$$ just good homes. Cost of the pups will cover shots dew claw removal for field dogs and normal vet bills incurred. If you really want a lab, have a good place for it and are low on funds talk to me. Don't BS me just talk to me. I am not doing this for money and know it will cost me more than what I get out of the pups. I don't want pups around without good homes. I do believe these are both very good dogs. Mickey's parents were Chocolate and Yellow. Any ?s please ask. I will ask Huntncoug to post about Blue here Too. If things go as planned the pups should be heading to their new homes about May 22nd.

All unclaimed pups will be dropped off with Parker's Kids while he is off fishing for the weekend.

I'd be interested if they are still available. Been thinking about getting my (soon to be) 6 year old a pup for her birthday that I could also use for birds. Sounds like these would be perfect for a combo family/bird dog. I'll send a private message with my contact info.

More on Blue

I made plans with Achewter and it sounds like we are going to do it. My dog Blue, the Sire, is a great hunting dog, his dad is a Tiger Mountain Pointing lab and his mom is from a pointing lab breeder in Kansas. He is registered but I never recieved the paper work from his breeder and I lost his phone number. He will point any upland bird that will hold and will retrieve anything you shoot. He is 105lbs (no fat) and a very good looking dog. He is the most layed back, easy going lab you will ever see, great with kids, and other dogs.

Wow
lots of replies and PMs
I am located North of Seattle. That may weed out a few.
I have been asked to post a price and to be truthful I Don't have one. I was only hoping to recover most of the cost of the litter. I am not trying to make money on this. I will have a few hundred into prepping for the pups plus cost of shots and puppy check ups. Both parents were purchased from reputable breeders and are like family members and that's what I want for these pups. Weather I give them away or charged $1000 ea. pleas realize that the long term incidental cost of owning and proper care of these pups can be much more than that. I have had a large response for pups and allready had homes for a few of them for some time. One for sure will be going to a friend of Blue's owner and One has been promised to a friend of mine for a long time. Another frind says he wannts one and I am also hoping to place one with a hunting and fishing buddy of mine that got me hooked on labs to begin with. If these pups were sold with papers and breeding rights they would go between $600 to $900 ea. If they were sold by either of the parents breeders even more. I am hoping they will be going for $125 to $150 with no complications with pregnancy and birth and not to exceed $250.00 for Ifish members if there are complications with the litter. That is less than what I beleive it will cost me to do this. If some one responds that I feel really needs one of these pups and does not have the money I would rather give them one than have it go to someone I do not feel comfortable with just because they have cash. Honestly I am hoping for a small to average litter. If you want a pup for field hunting I would also suggest you have the due claws trimed. I am not sure what that runs now but will have it done for anyone that wants it for cost. Mickey has hers and they have not been a problem. Mickey will be bread near the end of the week so I have no Idea how many pups will be available. It should be ruffly 9 weeks until berth and I would like the pups to head for their new homes on the weekend of the 22nd of may. I will ask people to come and pick out pups on the weekend of the 8th and will try to be as flexable as possible if that isnt possible. A firm price will be set before anyone spends the time to come and see the pups.
Hope this helps. Looks like even if we have an above average litter we should be able to place all the pups in good homes...Art
