I just read the Longveiw newspaper about how the smelt are not in the Cowlitz and that they have even left the Columbia River.

I used to deliver the Longview Daily News when I was a kid. Anyway, it takes a little longer to gather news, choose it, edit it, fit it, print it and deliver it than it takes to post on the Internet. Chuck at Bob's will be all over it in a day if it's true. Check tomorrow's paper.

Okay, before everybody gets their pantyhose soiled. This is purely info from a friend and not backed up by any verification. Anyway, the word is that the Cowlitz is producing smelt and the the little fishies are coming in waves.

Haven't see no waves in the Cowlitz either.

I'll go take a look shortly as soon as it lightens up a bit.
Not too optomistic for today though.
