Self moderating board... well, almost!
--Just wanted to take a minute to tell you how much I appreciate ifishers who are trying to play by the rules. Especially these past two weeks, when I have been so busy trying to get the new board to where I (and we!) want it.
Truth be told, (and this is unusual!) there have been some days that I have not glanced at the board, even once. I'd work on what needed worked on, cook dinner for the kids, and dropped away, sound asleep, by 7, only to get up at 5, and do it again.
I don't like you guys talking boat talk like you probably might when you are out fishing. I know that's tough on some of you. I appreciate your efforts in keeping this site readable by all ages and tastes, women, men, children alike.
There are schools who use ifish occasionally for reports, and it's a breath of relief to be assured that most of the content is safe and user friendly.
Also, I wanted to thank those that watch out for ifish, by sending a moderator alert to alert us of threads, or posts, that we wouldn't like on ifish.
If you have never done this, and see something that we might need to see, there is a yellow triangle alert button, to the right-top of each post.
If you click on it, it will open up a text box for you to comment on why you think a topic is not appropriate. This is also used on the classifieds, to tell us that we can delete an advertisement. Simply fill out the form, and click send. No one is going to know who sent it, except for the moderators of that board. We will not pass on who you are, to the person who wrote a post, unless we ask your permission. Rarely is this necessary.
Anyhow, like they say, "It takes a village." In this case, a fishing community, to make ifish a pleasant place to visit.
We encourage your participation and your moderation, to keep this a pleasant community in which to learn, make friends, and to just plain "waste" some of your time.
Thanks so much for making our jobs easier. There is simply no way we can read all of the posts, lately, and it is a comfort to know that you are watching out, too!
Much appreciation,
Jen
