Default North Santiam flows

Three days ago, the North Santiam flow increased from 1250 cubic feet per second flow at Niagara up to 1820 to help smolt planted at Minto trap. The extra water has helped them to migrate. The flow will drop back down to 1250 or so tonight (Friday) shortly after midnight, so flows on Saturday and Sunday will be at the lower level. This will be of interest to both power boaters and driftboaters on the "Learn the River" trip Saturday. There will be lots of migrating smolt for weeks to come. Flows at Jefferson are likely to be around 6000 cfs or a little higher.

Thanks for the info. Was out blowing off the dust of the old jet boat and found the going nice today. Was thinking of taking the wife out in the morning, will have to watch out.

Thanks for the update Bill. That's good to know that the Santiam will settle down overnight.
I plan to put in at dawn Saturday, at Buena Vista West, and fish well below the "Learn the River" bunch. I will have fellow Ifishers Ichthyoid, SalmonNilla and his cousin Doug along to help draw the curtain of plugs. I've got my sticker, ... I'll be waivin
