Default Deer creek spey rod

Hey guys,
I am just getting into spey fishing and just bought a TFO deer creek 7/8 wt spey rod.
My question was, Are these rods good for skagit and scandi casting? Again I'm new to this so any info would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance for any help!

I have a TFO 12'6" 6wt that throws an airflo 420 skagit like a lazer so yours should handle a skagit just fine.

Try that rod with an Airflow 540g compact skagit for winter, and a 460 AFS head for summer fishing. Those lines should load your rod nicely.
