Default Dream land, boats, boats, and more boats!

How many do you need?
One for the big ocean with a deep vee hull
One for the bay that can also handle tough water, should it occur...(Predator!)
One nice drift boat for trailering.
One beat up drift boat for tossing over the bank where there is no launch...
One raft for going places no man should go...
(Raft or cat?)
.....
and then there is the garage....
Quad garage, with sliding electric doors on each side for driving in, dropping the boat, and driving back around...
Library type ladders on both ends, so you can store tackle, crab pots, etc clear up the wall...
Shelving in between drives...
A hoist above one bay for lifting canoes, rafts, etc to the ceiling...

And a winning lottery ticket!
Could someone please stop the rain?
Jen

Is it possible??

my collection has already started. i'm up to a canoe for covering more water and a float tube for solo and backcountry trout fishing. got a report last year of some really big trout being taken on lost lake on the east side of mt hood last spring. looking forward to some of that action.

i think my next boat will be a drift boat.

Jen's my kind of woman! Is it possible to have to many boats (nah). Unfortunately I only have a drift boat, but if I could only have one type of boat my entire life, a DB it would be.

Well there's only around 7 boats that are of real necessity

1. 30 FT hatteras for offshore tuna and Salmon
2. 23 Ft Super vee (Boondogging and clear weather Columbia)
3. 16 Ft flat bottom John boat (for Ducks)
4. Drift boat
5. Something with a top and a heater(SlutGodess)
6. Canoe

I think I've forgotten one or 2 Capin' Dan can yooou help me out on this one

I would love to have a garage that elaborate but I'll settle for one that has enough room for a boat and a car.

I read this yesterday, and it scared me!
I've never met a woman that thinks like this.
I pondered this for quite some time now......
I'm still a little shaken that a women, one I've never met, can know my inner most thoughts and dreams.
I've given this careful consideration.... I know she's allready married, that she likes her seclusion, and that her health may be a concern..
but........
I would like to nominate Jen to run for President!

I am stunded, Jen!. I am not kidding you one bit, but I was just out looking at property for almost exactly what you have described. You were closer than you will ever know about the boats. You have been thinking this our a bit better than me, as I had not gotten to the hoists for the smaller flotation devices. I will have you and your family over next summer (or the next) for a grand tour and a picnic. Keep thinking those great thoughts

Well Jen I have the problems licked. I have three boats. 23' Trophy, 19' Capri, 18' alumiweld flat bottom sled. The first two reside in a 1000 sq ft shop and the sled resides outside with a cover. I have one other building on the property which houses my 59 Ford Galaxie 500 and garden tractor plus other non used items.

To replace my home and outbuildings? No chance to get anything comparable. Plus its almost paid off. Why move? I do get pressure from time to time from the wife but I always go back to "then the boat will be parked in the living room." That usually quells the conversation and I add " a new house would be nice but you might have to go back to work to help pay for it"  Silence at that point is just golden

Keta - don't feel bad. I need to sell 5 of the 7. The 6th is my dinghy for the Tolly. Just don't have time to clean/fix em up and get rid of em. There's always fish to be caught out there (every darn day!!).

Ampersat, I thought you already had a drift boat! What were you looking for a spare paddle for? or is that your rationale for your wife? " Look honey, I got a drift boat paddle! all i need now is a Drift boat" I tried that once on my wife, "Look honey, I got a box of 30.06 shells.........."

You left one out - a zodiac. I've got one I throw in the camp trailer so I can fish when I camp. I used to use a canoe, but two people flyfishing out of a canoe that also contains a lab.... not for the faint of heart. The zodiac is *very* stable and is a nice addition. Plus, when I get my TUNA BOAT (!!!) I'll have a safety net to take along.

You forgot the ski boat for the lake so you can play with the kids when it is too hot and the fish aren't biting. That one also works for the Kokanee and with a decent kicker on back, you can troll in the river to your hearts content.

Then you keep that boat for your dingy when you get your 80 footer. Then your boat IS your living room and your view is where you happen to throw out your anchor. I seen one in Alaska like that.... that got me to thinking....

I think I will go back and dream some more. Hopefully the winning lottery numbers will come to me as I

For thirty years I've tried to equate boats with the need for specialized golf clubs. She's not buying it.

She loves to fish but sees no need for anything more than one closed face Zebco rig and a camp stool.

Would you reason with her Jen. Wonderful wife and mother - just has her priorities out of whack.

wallyw,

Hide all of the silverware, plates, pots and pans but one set each. Next take all of her makeup, close and shoes but one set of each.

 A new boat will not be the only thing you won't be getting.

Somehow this thread sounds like that joke that went around ten years go.

Wanted Wife

That can cook, sew, pitch camp, load ammo, hunt, skin game, pack game out of the woods, butcher game, launch boats, catch fish and clean fish. Must provide own boat and outboard. Please send picture of outboard.

Still have swivelneckitis when a good looking boat goes by on the road. But the wife quickly pokes me.

I think we'll need a pit that you can drive over in one of the bays. You know, for changing oil and doing all that dirty stuff.

"Swivelneckitis," I like that one! And yes, I think I have that too! I also get a bad case of that every time I cross the Santiam on I5. My wife sometimes says, "You want me to just take the wheel so you can see if anybody is down there fishing?"

Fishing upper tidewater with that predator is a bit tough. I think you need to have an upper and lower tidewater boat. Oh and by the way, a camo duck boat would be nice as well.

My brother and I were just dreaming about the quad shop or garage with door openers this weekend after the Bounty on the Bay. Great minds dream alike...about boats and fishing!
