Default Guide Orientation?

Maybe it dosen't matter, but which is the correct way to orient these guides? Single foot towards the tip, or towards the butt?

Thanks

Yes, single foot towards the tip.

By the way, what type of blank is that?? Interesting looking "crossweaves" in that section of blank.

The rod is actually a 6 wt 9' 3 piece Flyrod blank. It's IM8, and that crossweave is Titanium.
It was given to me to "Play with". I do not know who the maker is, nor do I know what to do if she breaks
BTW, those guides are not going on that rod....just used for a photo example.
