Default What happend to Depoe Dan????

A while back Depoe Dan was openly posting some of his recent problens (which in my opinion REALLY took some guts to do ). However, I haven't read anything from him lately. It appeared that he had the entire support of all here, and I'm sure he still does. So let me know how he's doing. I hope things are working out for him.

I met him last week on the Cowlitz. (born to be wild) He offered me lots of advice as to where to smelt, and even gave me a good bunch of them he dipped himself. His smelt reports also saved a bunch of us the tiem and expense of driving up for no reason. Really nice guy, and full of class. I too hope he is doing well with his battle. I wish him the very best of luck.

Anybody here from Dan lately? Noticed he hasn't posted in a while and I heard a rumor that I hope is not true. I don't want to post anything about what I heard because it was second hand info. Have never met him but he seemed like a nice guy and gave out lots of great tips.

I've wondered too. I was away for a couple weeks, came back, no more Born to Be Wild. I see he's not on the Ifish user list either.

Did he get the boot? (assisted cyber-cide ?)

And another MIA...what about that Fishing Geek?

BTW, my Dan story is I met him for the first time at Feb's Sportsmans' Show. He was totally amped-up over the Brad's lures he was repping and his enthusiasm was, well... enthusiastic.

No, he didn't get the boot. He asked to be taken off of ifish, and we complied.
He wasn't very happy with things here, from the sounds of it. It can be a tough go around here, sometimes. We all know that.
Kind of like Mr. Lutz. We welcomed him back, also, but he decided that he didn't want to be back.
We have rules, and if they aren't followed, or if people don't agree, or understand them, then it's best they not visit, I guess.
Dan is a very nice, very generous, good hearted guy, and we all like him.
So is Brion Lutz, actually. Just that sometimes things go wrong.
I hope that Dan and Brion are doing well.
I don't know about the Geek.

I fished with Dan on the 1st and 2nd of this month. We had a great time, but didn't manage to catch any fish. He's working a couple of jobs right now and is very busy. I talked to him last week and gave him some lead so he could pour some sinkers for Bob's, but haven't heard from him since. We were hoping to get out and get some bottomfish in the next few weeks if he ever gets the time.

DAn took a pic of my first springer Mon while at the same time he dropped a prototype Brads mag wiggler by for me to try. It looks killer. He's working quite a bit and has a new girlfriend, which oddly enough I've known since grade school. He wanted me to let you know he's doing OK and trying to get his life together. He and her will be attending church and trying to get both their lives back on track. HE WILL be on the rivers this summer and fall chasing whatever will bite those horrendous eggs he cures.

Its great to hear that he's doing ok. Glad that what I heard was not true. Someone must of had their facts mixed up, which seems to be common with second hand info and why I didn't want to say what I heard. Hope he decides to come back to ifish someday.

Those rules lead to a lot of hard feelings Jennie. You take quite a bit of criticism for enforcing them. But you know what?

It's professional and fair. Need I say more?

I just talked to Dan a little while ago. Sounds like he's doing great. He doesn't work for Bob's like I thought. He's been busy with his jig bussiness, and has a job doing something with windows (the glass kind). He did say to say hi to everyone, and that he may come back when things slow a little. Sounds like he has a new special someone in his life now and he is starting to attend church again. Wish him the best of luck in whatever he does.
