News Choppers Circling !!!FIRE!!! (pics)

After listening to several news choppers circleing my home I finally went out side to see what was going on. There is a fire on 101st and foster at the Thermo Fluids Company.

I thought you were shooting at TV helicopters. :blush: I was gonna tell you shouldn't do that. (although the desire for a shoulder-mounted rocket has crossed my mind after listening to those helicopters for a few hours)

Yep that's right in my shops backyard today. Saw flames at one point 100ft in the air. Several explosions feeding the fire and soot falling all around my shop. I'm at 100th and Foster so we have had a seat on the 50 yard line today. First time I have ever seen my fire hydrant hooked up outside my shop. Hope it's the last time too.

Soon as I saw the fire start I called over to my neighbors at Thermo Fluid (aka Spencer Environmental) to make sure everything was okay. Gal I talked to said their oil pit was on fire but did not realize the magnatude of the situation.

Glad everyone was able to get out okay and right now it appears the fire is now under control. Big problem with the runoff of all the water in that it is heading down the drains with oil contaimenates and of course there is Johnson creek right there too.

We were on the Willamette today by the railroad bridge near LO and saw the smoke. Our imaginations were going crazy...there was so much smoke!

Woke up this morning to a siren.....then another, and another, and another, and then I finally lost count and went back to sleep.
I live about 20 blocks away from that place. I'm not surprised, with their run of luck lately. :depressed:

It was a long day, I was out there till 1800 last night. Pretty nasty stuff running out of that building. Saw your shop as we turned off Foster Bernie.
