Smile Spey Lessons

Kevin2023 asked me about Spey lessons. I am probably the last person to ask about Spey, but I agreed to give him a few pointers.

We went to a local river this morning, river flow right to left and I gave him some pointers on a snap-T. He caught on fast and was soon casting ¾ way acoss the river.

In the mean time, I did some casting on my own. I was using a 10 foot T-14 tip with a Blue & Black MOAL. Bang, a real grab in the 37 degree water. I soon brought the hatchery buck to hand:

Kevin? Well he got an excellent "winter steelhead on the Spey rod" demonstration.

Andy, I have had some of my best fishing days while donating the day to helping/teaching a friend how to catch steelhead or learn a new river. The fish Gods shined on you for sure!
