Default New to ifish

I have been lurking on ifish for some time and finally signed up. Thanks for all the info it has really helped out. Hopefully now I can share some of my own. I live in Portland and maily fish the Sandy, Clackamas, Deschutes and some SW Washington rivers. My favorite is chasing winter steelhead with a two hand rod and a few good friends.

Thanks again and look forward to sharing.

Well lets see. I recently got married and for my bachelor party we spent 4 days in Forks, WA fishing for winter steelhead last February. The fishing was not great as the rivers were all very low but we had a lot fun. There were about 20 of us (10 hard core fisherman and a bunch of drunks) and we managed one nice 14 lbs hatchery buck and a few bull trout. Unfortunately I was not the one catching any fish but it was a great time. I was suprised at how much I was allowed to fish as the non fisherman made it clear they were their to party but I was able to get out of the house before they woke up so we got in a lot of fishing. Once the sun went down and the fishing was over I spent the rest of the nights with bowling balls shackled to my ankles and they even managed to duct tape me to a tree. They atleast left my arms free so I could sip on a beer while I was taped to the tree.

As I have seen many times on this forum it is not always about the fish you catch but about the friends and family you fish with.

Hey Sam,
Welcome to ifish, it's always great to have more people on here exchanging stories about fishing and non fishing experiences. Sounds like you had one heck of a time on your bachelor party.

Welcome, I fish alot of the same rivers you've mentioned. In fact, I spent monday on the Kalama. No fish, but it was a great day. Fish mostly on mondays. Let me know if you need a fishing partner.

Welcome, and sounds like you had a good bachelor party. Next comes kids, and the 4 day fishing trips get harder to manage after that!
