Waiting for the whales.

Oomiak waiting for the leads to open and the whales to show up.

I took this in Barrow a while ago at about 0400. That's a pressure ridge in the background and nothing but ice to the North Pole.

I thought I was real smart out there all by myself getting cool pictures. The guys I was working with didn't think I was too bright as the Polar Bears are quite hungry at this time of year.
