Default Tuff to Mono

Quick question. Is it safe to tie a blood knot from Tuff mainline to a mono leader? Will the Tuff end up cutting thru the mono?

Would sticking to a barrel swivel be best?

Thanks.

A blood knot WILL slip. Use a DOUBLE UNI KNOT .

Great diagram, Keta, thanks! That's the clearest graphic I've ever seen the Uni (or Double-Uni).

I've always used a swivel but never really liked having to do it that way. This is good.

I use a nail knot. I use a fly fishing knot tool and it takes about 1 minute and that is all I used to connect leaders to fly line and that never slipped. the uni knot is nice as well and shouldn't slip but as with all knots make sure they are locked down well before just cranking it out into the water. 30 seconds more might make sure a knot is secure which is better then the disapointment of loseing a 20 pound chromer..

LUBE (saliva) ALL KNOTS AND PULL TIGHT! Test ALL knots before fishing.

I've caught many halibut in the 200lb range and lots of albacore using a Uni Knot and have NEVER had the knot fail. It's also fast and easy to tie.
