Favorite street bike?
Mine was a 550 GT 2 stroker Suzuki back in the early 70`s. A real crotch rocket for it`s time. Surprised I`m still around after the way I used to drive that thing. Used to drag race anything between stop lights down San Deigo way. Young and bullet proof back then. Owned a bit of everything since then, from Yamerhammers to Harleys. What was your favorites all? Ff.

Re: Favorite street bike?
The first new one is always the fav. Kaw GPZ 750, 1985.
20 year later and a little smarter, a nice Road King fits the bill.

Re: Favorite street bike?
Yamaha V-MAX with that big nasty intake scoop on the side. If I ever bought a street bike that would be it.

78 Kaw KZ 1000, had it set up for touring. Full fairing, bags, trunk, stereo, throttle lock, electric windows and air conditioning....the works. Had to sell it when I got stationed overseas :depressed:

Re: Favorite street bike?
Sweet rides all! Used ta have a 63 pan hog for a while. It was an old Orlando, Fla. police bike, set up for a side car.The side car was gone but the Suicide clutch, tank shift, two tone blue & clear windshield were still attached. Took it to run to the sun week down at Daytona in early 77. The thing took a lotta gettin` used to. Scared the heck outta me. Sold it for mere beans a year later so I could move back up here to Gods country. Ff.

there are a lot of sweet rides ot there... but a streched, slammed, ultra-wide harley is alway a winner in my book.

Moto Guzzi 1000SP. Similar to a BMW RT, but way better performance and Italian style. I loved that bike, and still love all Guzzis. It was tough to have to sell her.

Re: Favorite street bike?
My first was a '71 Kawasaki H1, 500cc 2-stroke triple. Total death machine. All engine, no chassis. The brakes couldn't stop a Schwinn, and it wobbled like crazy at high speeds. They were only good for two things- drag racing and killing riders on high speed corners.
In '81 I bought a '78 Kawasaki Z1R, which was an upgraded version of the famous KZ1000. 1/4 mile in 11.70, top speed about 150. I was 19 and bulletproof, and no mere motorcycle was going to kill me. The first day I had it I got 2 tickets. One day, heading to the coast on US26, I came up behind a National Guard convoy that was crawling along at 50 mph. I downshifted, twisted the throttle and let 'er rip. I passed 26 vehicles in one shot, a personal record that still stands.
It got stolen in '83, and that probably saved my life. It definitely saved my driving record.

Re: Favorite street bike?
Yep, the ones Ska H & Jettin F sent in are beauts! I kinda lean towards the kick back chopper look rather than the "cafe" style though. Only not quite as rad as the one SkaHorse is showing. Good pics though guys! Thanx. Ff

Re: Favorite street bike?
Man, I have owned a lot of bikes over the years.
I currently owna 99 Wide Glide (Love that bike)
and a 95 RF900 Suzuki (127HP to rear wheel)
But...........I think my 1984 Nighthawk S was my favorite tool around on bike. Shaft drive, easy seating position and just all around fun bike to own.

Never had a street bike, but always thought those Yamaha 2 strokes were cool. I think they were RZ350's?

Re: Favorite street bike?
Guess I got "old" early. Used to have a Honda Gold Wing Interstate...1100cc, full dress, etc, etc, etc.
It wasn't a Harley, it was quiet, it was FAST, and had a Clarion stereo that kicked you know what. Very comfy..you could cover alot of miles in a day, and not feel it on your behind too

Re: Favorite street bike?
Yup, those were RZ350's--they were screamers!
If you held the throttle on to long though you had a tendecy to burn holes in the top of the pistons
You could ride a wheelie out of sight on one of those things!
