Well since i only live 45 min from crescent i have no excuses for not going. Just have to convince the wife that she would have fun.
Saturday was a beautiful day. Flat calm Blue sky i actually was down to my t shirt at one point....
Started off trolling, let my wife pick out her plug. And off we went. Had our first hookup at 0900. Course it was on my wifes rod, well guess they were both hers cause if mine would have hooked up it would have been hers anyway.
Second hookup was at 1130 she had just popped her plug off of the downrigger and was reeling up when he started peeling line off the reel the look on her face was priceless...
We then went and tried jigging for some of the spawning Kokes but i think we were a little late this year so no luck there before lunch..
Headed back to the lodge for a cowboy burger and a black butte.....
after lunch we hit it again for a couple more hours with no luck.
I just sat at the trolling motor and watched the dog and wife catnap in the sun....
My phone rang so i answered it and it was a buddy of mine....Told him how the day was going he got all excited so i told him i would leave the boat up there and we could go back in the morning and give it another try....
Sunday was another story....Cloudy and cold... We had the boat fired up and were just pulling away from the dock while another boat launched.. They asked how we did yesterday and i was proud telling them we got two nice ones to the boat....
only one hookup on Sun.
The wind and rain picked up and one of the other boats headed back to the dock. All i could think in my head was well at least someone else is crazy enough to still be out here in this weather....
We passed the other boat a couple times always glancing over to see if they were fighting a fish or not....Three times we were able to see the other boat land a fish.. and a couple more times we were pretty sure we could see the tell tale signs of a fish being fought, But through the rain and wind it was hard to tell.
well i think we used more propane from the heather than we did boat fuel that day....The wind really started to pick up so we decided to call it a day...
We had just pulled out and were securing the boat when the other boat motored up to the dock. So i stalled a little while acting like i was doing something so i could at least ask how they did.....11 FISH TO THE BOAT WHAT!!!!!!!!!!
Well i was speechless ... I always want to be the one to make someone speechless at the dock....
All the way home all i could think of is what were we doing wrong...
And of course i jump on ifish this morning to find out who the famous fisherman were....
Klamanite and Badger were fishing GODS that day.... Congrats Guys...
