Default Crescent Lake Reprieve 12/20

Well, after 3 consecutive fishless trips (for me anyway) I decided to give Crescent Lake another chance to be nice to me. Jason (BadgerJ) and I have been PM'ing back and forth for several months trying to get a trip together and this one worked out just fine. We arrived at the ramp right at first light and got out on the lake immediately. We have been by ourselves lately but today there were two other boats besides ours. We started marking fish right away and it wasn't long before Jason was into the first fish. He kept telling me how excited he was and that his knees were shaking the whole time. It was pretty neat to be able to get him into some quality fish. I'm having trouble remembering what fish came in what order so I don't recall which one came first or 11th Yes........I said 11th This was one of the most incredible fishing days I have ever experienced We had 15 or 16 takedowns and got 11 to the boat. We weighed in a 16 1/2, a 16, 2 15's, and of the remaining fish only 1 was under 10 lbs We also had double-hookups 3 different times, with the last one being twin 15 lb'ers.

We were both in shock every time we hooked another and kept wondering where it would end. I was thrilled with the first 2 and could have easily called it a day without batting an eye. The wind finally kicked up around 2:30 so we called it a day rather than fight with it. All in an incredible day with some big fish on a beautiful lake

Just awesome. The more you guys post about crescent and those beautiful macks - the more I think it might be worth driving that far! Good work out there.

Congrats to you Mike and Badger. It always comes down to "time on the water." If we keep paying attention, listening, learning, trying different things and not giving up we are eventually rewarded. I can't count how many fishless days I have had on Crescent over the years, but there is something about the late fall and winter that can make for some unforgettable days out there.

Were you in the green sled? I saw one other boat earlier, but it looked like they bailed once the rain started.

DUDE!!!!!!!!Guess you finally broke your streak, eh? From one TTH'er to another, sincerest Congratulations Mike!!!! Freaking awesome man! Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, and I'm glad you were able to get Badger into some fish too. Describing his knees shaking just made me smile because it is such a rush to catch TROUT this big (I know Lake Trout are Char, but these are the size of salmon). I'm seriously so happy for you man. You have had ONE HELL OF A YEAR!!!!

I'm going to be honest...my knees are still shaking. I have never experienced anything like it. I don't know if I can ever top that trip. Klamanite is hands down one of the kindest and most skilled anglers I have had the pleasure of meeting. He showed infinite patience with me. I was giggling like a little girl most of the day (there might have been some squeeling and clapping as well as well).
I can't thank you enough Klamanite! It was great to finally meet you in person and a real pleasure to fish with you. I'm honored I was able to be there when the jinx was broken. I hope I can return the favor some day.

Wow! Thats awsome, what a great day/report!

I need to try that one day, I think a lake trout might be the only trout in Oregon that I have not caught.

Outstanding and great pictures there Mike, thanks for your report. You guys are killing me here. Now the question is how many restless nights you going to have thinking about another day like this one
