Default Sandy Monday & Tuesday

Planning on spending some time in Oxbow Monday and Tuesday, swinging flies and scaring fish with my rusty casting skills. Let me know if anyone feels like connecting. My spey casting is rough these days, use it or lose it, but I know the water pretty well. PM if you like.

Picked up an 8/9 lb buck swinging. Hoping the river slips back into shape by morning.

These days, I should be grateful for still having a job and so it was a fantastic day at the office (ie: it sucked).

I was with you in spirit. Thanks for coming through for us!

With you there. I think the fish gods showed pity after I worked through nearly all the heralded summer run.

Much of winter steelheading involves the fish gods and they can be fickle, tormenting and unnecessarily cruel.

Way to appeal to their charitable side.

Back at this morning. The water looked good, a little off color but clearing as the day went on. No fish today though...a few plucks at best. Time to get out there.

I will turn my attention to the Sandy and Clack next week. The water should be perfect but as slow and low said, cold. Hope the East winds don't kick up too much. My early SW WA river was tough again this year but brought my fourth fish to hand yesterday.

A reminder on the steelhead challenge: This year there are monthly prizes based on a drawing not the largest fish. Hopefully, this will encourage the entry and posting of more steel pictures. There are a few days left for December with prime waters out there. Don't be shy. Sadly, I don't carry a camera.
