Re: tualatin river
It's high and dirty. I don't think you will catch much until it's gets back into shape and warms up, maybe spring.

Re: tualatin river
The water is probably too cold, you may catch a pikeminnow or two but thats it. Bass fishing can be pretty good around that area come spring (and 50 degree water).

Re: tualatin river
I've been to cook park a couple times. I know there's bass in there. But never seemed to be able to catch one. What techniques do you guys recommend?

Re: tualatin river
I've always done really well throwing a craw colored crank around that area, make sure its bumping wood or bottom ever once in a while. Also try throwing 1/4 jigs into trees and never forget about a 3inch senko fished wacky (or texas) in the current seams.

Re: tualatin river
I also think they are mainly cutthroat trout versus rainbows. Yes most of my fishing is from the bank and I have gotten smallies out of there around 3.5 pounds, maybe close to 4. I have also heard of some decent largemouth coming out of that stretch as well.

Re: tualatin river
There is alot of different fish in the tualatin, I remember reading once about the tualatin river having the worlds most species for a river system. I cant find the link right now I will look for it..

Re: tualatin river
A very tough river to get consistent action.
I prefer the stretch of the Willamette near the mouth of the Tualatin, park at the ramp off of 10th street exit.
