Re: Am I A Choker?!
RTFQ - Read The Full Question
Read the manual. Then read it again. There are only so many things in there that are "testable". Distances, etc.Sit down and read it again just before you take the test.
A large percentage of the questions are common sense. Remember that they expect that you will drive defensively, not aggressively.
Same goes for taking the driving test. Be defensive. Drive smoothly and carefully. Move your head and look around a lot. SIGNAL. Listen to what the examiner tells you.
It is not the end of the world if you fail. 15 is too young to be driving anyway.

Spazz hit it on the head just relax...
Remember the book can only help you so much on the test. Most of the stuff from the test is just common sense.

Re: Am I A Choker?!
Orrrrrrr, there is the distinct possibility that you will fail this test forever, thereby relegating yourself to a life of bicycling around while all the good-looking chicks pick someone else.
Imagine attending the Prom with your special gal perched on the handlebars in her beautiful white gown. Careful for the puddles!!
Just make sure you get a bicycle with fenders, OK???

Come one, Thumper, he doesn't need to take a bike to the prom. Mom and Dad can drive!
If the exam is still multiple choice, rule out the obvious wrong answers before making a choice of the right one.

Re: Am I A Choker?!
Hey there, I too flunked my permit test twice. I did pass on the third time and then when I went on my drivers test I passed with the lowest possible score . 10 yrs later I let my drivers license expire and had to take the drivers test over again. Once again I passed with the lowest possible score! 10 yrs of practice and I never improved, so sad  .
You WILL pass the test, everyone does. Just relax and have a friend or family member ask you questions from the manual before you take the test. Good luck!

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">good advice. you can usually rule out 2 of the 4 answers as obviously wrong. that leaves you with only two possible correct answers.
relax, read the entire question and all the answers. then, try reading the question again. also, stay alert. sometimes the current question will give the answers to future questions.

Re: Am I A Choker?!
Relax and you will do fine. If that does not work just picture all the DMV people in their underwear like the are an audience on second thought don't do that. And if you are bike bound for life think of all the car expences saved and with that you can hire a driver to take you to the prom so your girl won't have to sit on the handle bars
Breathe deep relax and take your time you will do just fine. Keep us posted on your progress so that WHEN you do pass we can all send you a big and for a job well done.

Re: Am I A Choker?!
Excellent- One less boat/driver at the ramp and on the road! Maybe they should make these tests more like Organic Chemistry Final exams. Think of all the Tax money we could save on roads!
Sorry- Like they said, relax..... have a beer. (Oops.. maybe not).

Re: Am I A Choker?!
yea i hear ya, sit down relax and rule out the obvious, but it becomes worse. did anyone take the test on a computer that tells you your wrong or right after you answer? talk about stress. i would much rather take the written, but not unless all the computers are full can you take the written. its a major stress for me, i am bad with computers.

Re: Am I A Choker?!
OK now here you are at the testing booth.
You sit down in the chair and go through the sign in.
You take a few seconds and look around and get the feel for your surroundings. As you are doing this you will notice that there is NO ONE there that will bite your head off, or drag you away kicking or screaming, or throw you on jail if you don't pass this test!
You know the material! You just need to put the correct answer that YOU DO KNOW which is the correct answer in the computer (the same computer that won't jump out and eat you). Don't focus on passing or failing just answer the questions. Take your time, relax and you'll do fine.
PS this is from my own personal experience as I too stink at taking tests. But you know what? I got through it too

Re: Am I A Choker?!
RiverKeeper, so did I!
Who knew that if a female horserider is on the right shoulder and you are approaching her from behind happens to raise her left arm you should slow down because she thinks her horse is scared?
Also, if you are on a two way street and want to turn left across traffic into a one way street, you can do so at a red light if there is no oncoming traffic. ???

Re: Am I A Choker?!
just eyeball the manual till your sick of it, then take a huge wad of cash with you to bribe whoever is running the computers than take a deep breath, relax and tell yourself it`s a piece of cake than take the test...use process of elimination, x out the ones you know could not be the answer.

Re: Am I A Choker?!
I think some of these answers are not very helpful. We have enough drivers on the road that DON'T know the rules. I don't want you to be one of them.
Driving safely takes many skills and knowing the rules of the road is the FIRST of many steps to becoming a good driver. So...
Get ahold of the questions you missed, grab your drivers handbook and go sit in the drivers seat in a parents car. Close your eyes and visualize yourself as the driver and apply the wrong answer to the scenario. (You may have to think of an intersection or whatever, that you are familiar with that the rule would apply to) Then visualize the correct answer for the scenario. Do this with every question you have missed and you will feel much more comfortable taking the test. You can also use this method for the test questions in the book.
When taking the driving test, most of us experienced drivers visualize the scenarios in our heads without even realizing it.
Hope this helps.
