Need Some Input
I today stoped in Bend and looked at a 18 foot alumweld sled, it has a console, the boat looks like it's in great shape, it need to have the floors replaced, the boat is a 1989, and the 115 IT IS A 1989 with pump that has been serviced with a satandard, alumiuan (sp) propeller, less than 6 hrs on service, the trailer needs to have 1 of the rollers re-welded, fish finder, no top, everthing works and the asking price is $5400.00, I was talking to the owner and he said if I like he would have it taken to All seasons marina and show me that it well check out.
What do you all think ??? as I cant think at this time.
Thanks and Tight Lines.--------R/RAT.

Re: Need Some Input
Chances are it's well built. They built them better back then. If you want a top...figure another $1500. I'd take it for a spin before I buy it...just so you know how it performs. Also, I'd look for "cancer" in the trailer as it could very well be there after 15 years.

Re: Need Some Input
I have a 87 flat bottom alumaweld 18' with 115 jet. I like it a lot. I do have full canvas for it though. I also have a gavanized alumaweld traler. Its a great boat and the price does not sound to bad. Just make sure everything works and factor in the floor replacement.

Re: Need Some Input
Check out the post in I Fish comm. By GRB,Titled just finished my new floor.
Looks like a great way to go for a reasonable price.
The flatbottom will be a rough rider but should still be a good boat.Just depends on what you want.
Also, did you click on the link to Stevens marine, used boat selection. You might find something there that fits yiur budget and doesnt need a lot of work.Or at check around to see if you could find something to compare to.
Good luck on getting your new boat.

Re: Need Some Input
you should take it for a test run alot of boats sound like they run good out of the water but when you put a load on the motor it dont all so the jet might need so TLC so you need to test it before you buy
