Default Fishing Video - (mpeg or quicktime?)

Anyone know qood and easy freeware application to convert a .mov (quicktime) file to a MPEG (windows media player) type file. I took some fishing video clips in mexico, but wanted to change them from .mov type files to .mpeg type files prior to posting a link cause more people (as I understand it) can view the .mpeg file format version. The video clips are of GRB getting knocked silly by the surf when we were in Mexico last week and are pretty funny, plus I will try to get some more good fishing clips in the future.

Brad...you got Windows XP? You might have it in your computer already.

Search "Windows Movie Maker"..in your files.

I use TMPGEnc to convert my .mov to mpeg it takes a plug in if you would like a copy since it is freeware i going to post a zipped file here you will need winzip to open the file. just download and then extract it to a new folder and run the tmpgenc.exe program this does not require a installation program to run before you can use it. the plug in for mov conversion is alreaddy applied

just a thought. most digital cameras and camcorders offer the choice of both formats. maybe like my sony cameras, you could just choose that format in the first place. mpeg is way easier for most people to view.

Windows media encoder is a better freeware product. MPEG althoug useable on the net is not nearly as efficient as windows media or real. Use windows media 9 and you can get full resoultion fast action at about 500 kb/s.
