Swingin on the Rouge for the Holidays?

So I'm thinking about heading home to the lower Rogue for a few days around the holidays. I've steelheaded from the baot plenty of times but since I've been up in the Portland are I've caught the Spey Flu big time. Can anyone give me any advice for this are around the holidays?

I'm also thinking about going to lower Washington somewhere for a few days as a second option. Any good places to stay?

I've been having pretty good luck at the hatchery. I like a black Intruder on a T8 or T11 head.

I prefer to fish the side of the river opposite the boat ramp. Park at the hatchery and walk over the rip-rap wall. There are three runs with obvious holding water. Fish the last run past the sunken tree. Work the tree thoroughly, it usually hold a fish or two.
