I think there is something zen about this and words really can't describe it.

That looks like a good goal. Should we all live long enough, to sit down with a friend and do a little fishin. Looks like Nirvana to me.

spinner53, exactly what I was thinking at first glance

Scotty,
send that to AFLAC and I'll bet the use it. Might even make some fishing money for it.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Unfortunately, The photo belongs to the Oregonian. I should've cited where I got it. I just love it when old men(I better be careful) Well, older than me get together and go fishing like this. You know that these guys probably have been doing this for years and, "Ain't no gosh derned snowstorm going stop em' either" The Aflac thing is right in line with my first thought but the second is where zen comes to mind. These gents are sitting their peacefully and not really interfering with their environment and hence, everything has accepted them to be a part of it.

Yeah, I know that the wildlife along the Sandy is pretty acclimated to humans but I still really enjoyed the picture and maybe tried to read to deeply. I just wish that I had a gramps to go fishin' with. Mine passed away before my eighth birthday. Luckily, My wife's grandma has recently remarried to a fisherman. I am looking forward to doing some catchin' with a guy that has far more experience than I.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">There is something about my scent that usually sparks a good nip in the butt. Them there SOBs do not like me for some reason.

I'm glad you all enjoyed this pic as much as I did. It has been a long couple of days. It's going to get even longer now that all the rivers will be blown out.

Born to be wild, I definitely will fish with you sooner or later. I am still new and really want to make sure that I don't burden anyone due to a lack of gear or certain experiences that can be gained by only one way. Getting out there and doing it.

I am getting my gear together. I really am a major newbie. As of spring of last year, I didn't even own a fishing rod. A few things (realizations) have made me look to what's important in my life. It is not my dirtbike or pwc but it is the time that I spend with people that are important. My father-in-law and myself have spent a few weekends fishing with my two boys. That made me happier than my entire life of ridig dirtbikes, quads, and personal watercraft. Maybe that is why this picture moved me in some way. These guys have something that a lot do not.

I do have dreams of landing a chinook of my Sea Doo though. I have an anchor and it may happen this year. I've actually been active in trying to bridge relations by awareness between pwc'ers and fisherman. I spend a lot of time on my pwc talking to other pwc riders about laws and other issues that are the result of selfish actions on the water.

what can I say the picture captures what fishing and being a true outdoorsman is meant to be just relaxing and enjoying what the creater has seen fit to give us.

it aint about who caught the biggest fish or who killed the most fish in a year its sitting back in peace quiet and most of all in awe of what god has created and allowed us the chance to take part in.

the picture shows a peace a serenity a calm that most will never know.
