Default whitewater video cams???

I've been tossing this idea around for a while after seeing a raft on the Deschutes with one of these last year. I poked around at some various web sites but really haven't found something that would work for me.
I'd like to find a small camera that is fully waterproof and can take video/sound and mount it somewhere on my pontoon boat.
At nearly water level I'm betting the shots would be fairly dramatic even in just piddley class II stuff.
Anyone who could point me in the right direction???

thanks!

MM,

I don't know if they make them for video cameras, but there are aftermarket camera cases that are designed to put your expensive digital's and make it waterproof. They look funny, like something you would see in Toys R Us with large buttons. A buddy has one and it seems to work great, expensive, but it does work.

The one I saw last year was small. The guy had it mounted on an "A"-frame above the rowers seat.
It was more like an "eye" attached to a cable that ran down to the guts of the rig. It actually looked like some kind of security camera you'd see in a mall.
That seems like it would be the ticket but I wonder about the quality of the picture.

I would suggest that you obtain a small waterproof video camera like they use for security. They come water/weather proof. Place your camcorder in an ice chest behind you. Run the camera wire into video in and turn your video camera on record. Should work.

Or you can build a waterproof case. Sound would be the only problem. I have built several cases for less than $50 each.

Call me if you want to see or use one of my cases.
