Raider Boats
Anybody own one or have info? Looking at an 18ft w/90hp Yamaha 4s. Package deal is 18999.00 Has a 30 degree bow, 31" sides. Thinking maybe a 18-19ft sled w/ sportjet might be a better value, but I dont think I would actually use it in skinny water...Thoughts?

Re: Raider Boats
Does that $19K include shipping from Australia?
And what if a weld breaks and you need service?
I'd stay local...... but that's just me.

Re: Raider Boats
I believe he's talking about RAIDER BOATS in Coville Wa. They look like a hewes.
You get a top for that price?

Re: Raider Boats
I think these are built in Washington (I heard that its ran by a former hewecraft guy - don't know if its true). Is this one of the boats at brown's landing? I seriously looked at one of these this summer. At first, I thought these were a good deal. But the more I looked at them and compared to other brands, the less I liked. They just seemed to cut too many corners (cheap trailer, cheap flooring in the bow, questionable finish work). The boat I was looking at was a little underpowered and no kicker. I ended up getting a used Willie's Asaltor (20') for about the same price. Came with a solid Yamaha 130hp 2s, and a nice 8hp honda kicker. I felt I got a lot more boat and quality for my money.
Bottomline, I think you get what you pay for. These boats are normally cheaper than most when brand new and I think there is a reason.
Good luck with the boat shopping.

Re: Raider Boats
Sorry Waterdog, and Foxer....
Didn't know there were any other boat makers in Colville, other than Hewescraft. My Sis lives in Kettle Falls (8 miles to the north). Did a quick search and it came up with a company in Aussie land.
Don't know anything about 'em...... Tim

Re: Raider Boats
I've seen them and they are pretty basic. The quality is just not there compared to any of the Oregon Boats like Willie's, Alumaweld, Boulton, North River, and the list goes on.
You get what you pay for.

Re: Raider Boats
For about the same price you can get a 19' Thunderjet with a 175 sportjet and some options (ie. top). I am having a brain cramp and can't remember the name of the dealer on about 115th and Sandy, but the T-jets looked like an okay deal last fall.
I also saw that Brown's is carrying "Rogue" boats. I haven't looked at them since last year, but they seemed to be a lot of boat for the price.
As for Ifish sponsors, I have heard nothing but praise for Northriver boats and their service. I'd take a drive to Clackamas before the final decision.

Re: Raider Boats
I own a 19' Thunderjet with a 175 SJ. It's a great boat and I have added many options including washdown pump and airride seats. I might be willing to part with it for what you're looking to spend.
I might be upgrading. The boat is loaded and always seems to catch fish. Maybe it's the boat, maybe it's me. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: Raider Boats
I saw the Raider boats when I was shopping and agre with the above comments about corner cutting and attention to detail.
I also have a Thunder Jet Luxor and absolutely love it. I have also had nothing but excellent dealings the guys at Siglers Marine where I bought it.
I beleive there is a used T-Jet here in the boats for sale section.

Many good boats out there, this is just my experience.
