Default Car runs all night .

Last evening I looked out my front window and noticed that my wife had left the dome light on in her car. It had been on for several hours . My wife went out and tried to start the car . It started just fine. Being the cautious soul that she is, she decided to let the car run for a bit to make sure it was at full charge for work the next morning . Well you guessed it .
The next morning she starts looking for her car keys and remembers that she left it running . All night .
The first thing that crosses her mind is she must need a new car because noone was willing to steel this one . It sat running with full tank of gas, her credit cards , check book, her id. and a bunch of cash. Never got touched.
What does this say about my neighborhood? Pretty safe . What does this say about my wifes car? Pretty pathetic.
Well,, I guess I need to get the wife a new ride. The new boat is taking her parking slot in the garage. Hi Ho. id. painter

I had a roommate in college do that once. Dropped his car off at the house to go do stuff with the guys, and left it running. Around the crack of noon the next day, same thing...hey, where are the keys?!? Engine was nice and hot, and the tank was hovering just above Empty...and this was 4 blocks from the Baylor campus...and anyone who's ever been to Waco knows that Baylor is not in the "good" part of Waco.

Sounds like you got a great neighborhood.

Although I can just picture a pair of miscreants sitting out in the bushes really struggling with the desire to take the car, but thinking that the whole thing was way too easy. Must be a sting operation. So they just kept looking for the undercovers that 'must' be around there somewhere.

Nope, not lucky. We just live in a town with a very low crime rate. Heck, I've had a set of tire chains sitting in the back of my truck for weeks now, part at the university every day, and their still there. I don't think I have had anything ripped off since I moved here 12 year ago. BIG change from Albuquerque.

Yesterday I read a post on the main board about rain water leaking into a boat's gas tank. It reminded me about the pinhole leak on the top of my boat's 6 gal tank.
So when I left for work yesterday I stopped by the boat to take a peek at it.
I don't need to worry about the leak anymore.....the tank's gone. Along with the hose. I guess one of the neighborhood tweekers decided he needed it worse than I did.

If they wanted to steal the gas, fine. It was getting stale anyway. I just wish they'd bring the tank back.

Don't press your luck...when you least expect it...you're elected...you're the star today....(To coin an old phrase from a funny TV show from long ago). You just got lucky.

My Gibson LP Custom stayed out on the front porch all night after we played at a party. At that time we lived in a soso neighborhood.

Just stupid.
