Mercury Mechanic?
My Grandfather has an older,1975?, mercury outboard that seems to have a fuel problem. He asked me to get a few opinions on a good local merc mechanic. I know some of you guys have your boats serviced once a year and must have a favorite shop. The motor is 65hp.
Thanks,
Dan(ger)

Re: Mercury Mechanic?
Stevens Marine works primarily on Merc's, but if you do some looking around you may find others at a diff cost, since it is an older motor

Re: Mercury Mechanic?
My mercs are much newer, but I'd trust the guys at Steven's in Tigard for an older motor too.
Probably won't be cheap, but I'd bet they'll get it fixed right!

Re: Mercury Mechanic?
I've heard of Marks Mercs in Salem, but have never personally taken anything to them.

Re: Mercury Mechanic?
I've got a 79 Merc. When it developed a problem I was told to call Larsen's.They told me his mechanic went back to longshorin'and to take it to Cascade Marine on Stark. They were the best with older Mercs. Cost me $12 for a fuel pump rebuild kit and he put new plugs in it for free. It's been four years and not even a cough out ou it

Re: Mercury Mechanic?
Go to Cascade Marine, they are not real good at detail (stuff for anal pilots} but they know those Mercs and they do a good job of making them run.

Davis Marine Services. We have a lot of IFISHERS that won't go any where else.

Servin's Marine in Newport simply the BEST 541-867-3703 Also in St. Helens there is Bob Sanders 503-397-9709, He is also Merc certified . I've used them both.

Re: Mercury Mechanic?
Davis Marine in Vancouver. I used them for the first time recently, and they worked on my boat immediately, got it done on time, and charged reasonable rates.
