Re: PlayStation 3 - 120GB HD New in Box
I don't know how long Best Buy provides exchange for warranty failures but I have to assume that at some point, they turn the repair over to Sony and won't swap it out at the store. My guess is that BB would swap the unit out without question but if they do question it, I would provide the necessary resources to get 'er done.
The purchase is tied to my receipt of which I would gladly offer a copy with the barcode blacked out. I'm concerned that the barcode could identify my credit card number through the transaction record. Obviously, I don't want to give out my credit card number.
If a warranty repair were needed and the store required the original receipt, I would participate to the fullest to ensure proper replacement or repair. If that means we need to coordinate so that I can walk in the unit, I'd be glad to do it becuase it's important that the purchaser knows that I won't leave them high and dry. It's a new unit so I don't anticipate any problems.
The PS3 cannot be returned for cash or credit because of the deep disccount that was given as a result of buying a package deal. I have the same problem with the LCD TV I bought. If I try to return it without the PS3, I would have to pony up a PS3 which I wouldn't have. I'm committed to the TV I bought so I'm not worried about it.
