Lost my wife ...Update
Woke up monday morning to another work week. My wife, like she has done many times over are 17 years slept in the guest room so she wouldn't disturb me because of my 3am call to work. She loved to watch TV late.
My 11 year old son woke up at 6:30 for school and went in to wake his Mom. She had passed in the night. Thank god his grandmother had stayed with us over the holiday weekend.
My son and I will lay her to rest on Wed.
My son has muscular dystrophy, he was diagnosed when he was 8 years old. We were told he would not live longer then his mid twentys.
He needs his Mom.
I need my wife.
Why are we being tested?
I don't no if I'm asking for prayer or a reason why I should believe.
We have been a strong catholic family born and raised, but now I have doubts.
Someone help me with some answers.
I don't no how much more I can take.
If it weren't for my son...
Wilson

Re: Lost my wife ...
CGR is right.
Things will get better.
I will pray for peace and healing for all of you.
Our family recently went through a similar situation when my Sister found her 30 year old son passed away in bed.Him and his daughter was staying with them. Its hard to understand. And maybe we never will.
It may take awhile. But we will heal.

That is such sad news...what a shock to your family. No words can really express what you and your family must be going through...nor can any words from me soften the blow. Your IFish support community is here...

Re: Lost my wife ...
At points in our lives we will be challenged to great extent, at these time we need to be on our knees praying for understanding, wisdom, comfort perseverance ect. We also need to open
Gods Holy Word, the Bible and see what he would reveal to us. Sometimes even Pastors or Priests can't give you the answers we need, after all they are servants just as we are, no one on this earth knows all the answers.
I hope you find some comfort in knowing there are many people holding you and your son up in prayer. We worship a Great God, go to him and humble yourself and may you find guidance and great comfort.

Re: Lost my wife ...
I can only express my deepest sorrow at your loss. To lose someone so close is something we are never ready for. But I can truthfully say I know the pain and am praying for your comfort and understanding.
Fishalot has said much what was on my mind.
May you and your son experience peace and comfort.

Can't begin to know the sorrow of your loss. When my wife walked out ,the only thing that I had to help me keep it together was my son. I just finished reading Job, and see that it was part of Gods plan to test and strenghten my faith. Please keep the faith .

Re: Lost my wife ...
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Prayers sent my friend.
Keep your faith, talk to someone, read the bible and do your best to stay strong for your son.
I'm not sure searching for an answer will do any good right now but I understand why you would want to. It will come, it may not be right away, but someday.
You can and will get through this.
God Bless

In times like this, I always try to look to the bright side. It sounds as if she passed easily, as I would like to do someday? Something to think about.
Also, your son may become stronger as a result?

Re: Lost my wife ...
Okay, that right there brought tears to my eyes and I cannot imagine the surprise and the pain you must be enduring. I am so sorry for your loss and pray that God will strengthen you during this time. Best advice is to not turn your back on God but open up your heart to His comfort. He never gives us more than we can handle though it sure feels that way when we meet life's challenges. Hard to believe but I feel it is a truth that I have experience. I have not experience your pain so I cannot relate directly to it but I know that when something like this happens your priest or pastor is often a wonderful source of compassion and counsel.
God be with you and bless you and your son Wilson.

Re: Lost my wife ...
Wilson,
I am so sorry for your loss. This is something you will not get over quickly or easily. You will hurt, you will cry, you will be angry, you will feel like you can go on no longer, but know that that God is there and he will see you through this, he is in control. This will be an extremely difficult time in your life, but know that God will never leave or forsake you.
About a month ago I helped my good friend carry his newborn son out to the awaiting limo in a casket, hardest thing I have ever done. They knew from early on in the pregnancy that the baby would not live long. The even harder thing was they went through the same thing two years prior. They were angry, why us, why do we have to go through this again. I don’t think they know, but they have clung to Christ and he is seeing them through this day by day. Some days are better then others.
I could not imagine loosing a child! I can not imagine loosing my wife! All I can say is hang on to Jesus. If we can help in any way let us know.
God’s grace upon you and your family.
Brother In Christ
Bryan

Re: Lost my wife ...
Thanks to everyone for your support.
The people of this web site are truly the greatest.
The funeral was wed morning with over 150 people attending. It was a beautiful service with much support from family and friends.
My son and I have spent time with our priest and though we still have questions we feel a little better about our faith in god.
As for the future, It's going to be one day at a time.
We will never forget but we need to get back to a normal routine.
Even though my heart is not into it I think will go get are Christmas tree today, my son needs a good christmas.
Again thanks to everyone for your kind words and prayers.
Wilson

Wilson...kudos to you and your attitude, trying to make as good a Christmas as you can for your son (and you)...I have not faced what you are facing, but I do know that with other issues, staying focused on positive sure helps, even tho there is a grieving process to go through.

Glad to hear you are beginning the long road of healing. I can only imagine how tough the small steps are to make , just keep on keepin on and when the bumps get too big lean on a friend. I have never met you and like the other family here on Ifish we feel your pain , like I said before if you need something just ask. I have a lot of time right now being out of work but I'm willing to help where I can , I have a boat if you guys need some time out fishing etc... Take Care and God Bless, jim

Re: Lost my wife ...Update
Wilson, My wife just lost her Grandmother. Not the same, but gives me some insight into support. Prayer, Freinds, Family and your church will all help. It will take time, but leave your heart open to God. Seek him in prayer, with your priest, and in your bible. There is no simple cure, but God knows your needs and will support you and your son. I am so sorry for your loss.

Re: Lost my wife ...Update
Larry,
I've been praying for you since I heard the terrible news from Bill. Stay strong my friend and believe that God will be with you all the way. I don't understand why things like this happen. No one knows. I'll continue to pray for you and your son. When the time is right and you just fill like getting away for the day, give me a call and we will take a drift down the river.
Your friend, John

Re: Lost my wife ...Update
i am so sorry to hear this....don`t lose your faith, it is a plan that only god knows and someday we will understand why things like this happen. no matter how hard things get. have comfort in knowing that your wife is in a better place....for whatever reason. someday you ...and your son will be with her. she is still with you , in your son and with the memories she leaves you, i will pray for you and your son, he needs you to be strong. like said have some comfort in knowing she is in a better place. pray for guidance and don`t stop. you will get through this brother.
