I got a ticket on Friday on my way home from work for no mud flaps on my truck. $140.00 what a joke. I guess they are going to get there money one way or another.

when they need money they need money. i got one of those about 4 years ago on they way home from fishing. back then it was 109.00 i also got it for no flaps for the front tires because my frame was more than 21 inches off the ground. i drove that truck 5 inch lift, 35 inch tires for 5 years before i got stopped. they must have been bored. sorry about your luck. that sucks.

Do you remember the good old days when you would get pulled over and get a warning or fixit ticket, not now. My wife got a ticket in Kiezer for entering a left turn lane to early, this was at river and lockhaven at 4:30 pm if you know this intersection you know you have to do that at times. When she appeared we tried to fight the ticket and found out that no matter what they could only reduce it by 50%. This is another of those new laws! So now no matter what its your word agianst the officers and no matter how right you are your still guilty, have to pay a fine and have a bad mark on your record!! What if the Officer was having a bad day guess who pays.

And, yes, there's been a mudflap law for years. With all the gravel still on the road, I'm glad to hear they're actually enforcing this one. A few years back, we actually followed a "stomper" truck with 36" tires and no flaps that threw a big rock and cracked the windshield in our Mitsubishi. Called 911, and was told to just take down the license plate and file a report. Ended up just turning into insurance and blew off the report, wasn't worth the hassle.

Having been on the other side of a rock kicked up by trucks with no mudflaps more than once, I find it hard to sympathize.

you know i can understand the rear, but the front? the only car that the rocks are going to hit is mine.

So who is it that decides what the bigger problem is? I have two nice cracks in my windshield from rocks getting kicked up. You got nailed for an equipment violation, deal with it. Get it fixed before you see the judge and he will most likely be very lenient. That ticket won't effect your insurance either..

I feel for your loss of the $140.00. But I have been behind plenty of trucks without flaps doing the sandblasting number on my paint and windshield. Especially after they laid all that gravel on the roads. It's still everywhere. I don't know what kind of truck you have and I doubt that you have bad intentions. But hey, at least put some flaps on the back.

Too bad they can't just give you a warning and make you just send the receipt for the flaps to them in the mail.

I hate when it is not raining but the roads are wet and you need to turn on your wipers because the vehicle in front of you is spraying dirty road water six feet in the air from its tires.

Not the mud flaps.....I know it is a drag but as mentioned get it fixed and show the judge that you fixed it and he or she will drop it. Don't feel bad either. The woman got a 35mph in a school zone. Her excuse was "I was gong with the flow of traffic"..."I took the driving test over 30 years ago"

I told her to learn from it and plead guilty because you are. She is a good but I still love her. Oh yeah...Her fine was $201.00 X 2 = $402.00 and she does not have an option to fix it

I hate to do this but my understanding is the day of the DISMISSAL is over WE WERE TOLD A JUDGE CAN ONLY REDUCE A CITAION BY 50% so no matter what if your cited your guilty. Sorry
