My life is a changin'. Finding ways to go fishing, while having a pregnant wife is a skill I am going to have to develop.
Last Friday the wife and I go to the doctor to hear the heartbeat of the baby that was "allegedly" growing inside of her. I didn't really believe it because pregnancy tests and doctor's can be wrong you know.
So, the little heartbeat came over the monitor and suddenly, we both realized that this was going to happen. Like in six months we were going to have a kid. A bambino. A mini-me.
As the heartbeat raced throughout the room (at three months they sound pretty quick), I was convinced the kid knew who his parents were going to be, and that's why his heart was racing. I would be nervous too kid.
Anyway, we go to the building supply store to set up the nursery and office -- consolidating two offices into one. My task is to empty out both rooms, spackle and then paint them. Then build two new desks we bought and set up the office, then work on the nursery.
My plan was simple, Saturdays work on the home improvement projects, Sundays hit the river with my dad for some much needed sturgeon fishing. This year has been so bad I didn't even get my license until Friday...jeez.
I am all set and working hard today when I call my pop to see how he is doing on the river (he got to go sturgeon fishing today...jerk  ).
"Patrick, I have bad news. Sturgeon fishing is closed on Sundays."
Heh, guess I should have checked that huh? So, tomorrow instead of floating in search of gators, I am going to be huffing paint fumes in our office. Who knows, maybe I will finish it?
I will see you guys next Saturday on the river!
