skewed outrage
While I do not in any way condone or approve of J Jacksons behaviour during the SB show, it amazes me to see that none of the American sheeple are protesting OUR outrages behaviour in Iraq...our troops are performing some really horrific atrocities over there, if only half the stories are true, and I beleive they are. I am a Vietnam era vet, and KNOW some really tacky things DO happen to guys away from home, in a hostile country, staying long past the time they were supposed to be over there, many of them being treatede with contempt because they are not "regular" Army....we have such a mess on our hands, as I knew it would be...and now it turns out that the major reasons for even being there were simply lies...we have a long row ahead, withj national disgrace staring us in the face.

If this was realy happening CNN would be all over it.

Re: skewed outrage
I guess everyone thinks the economy is improving also...as to politics, I at one time voted Republican consistantly, not anymore, I will vote for anyone who will uphold our Universe given right to keep and bear arms...God Help America, but He would be ashamed, we are not the peaople/nation we once were...no flame to anyone, but now I see why I get no takers when I say I have an open seat....Hi, Nathan

Re: skewed outrage
In war, there are always atrocities. War itself is an atrocity, regardless of the cause.
Feisty does have a point, though. There seems to be far more outrage over Jackson's boob than the conduct of the boobs responsible for getting us involved in a wasteful war.

My pet peeves with our political system are not allowed for discussion on this board, despite the fact that it directly affects over 1/6 of our population, and indirectly affects much more, probably greater than half.

Re: skewed outrage
The Sheeple always think the Gov is here to help them, on the way to the slaughterhouse...Folks, at one time this was a gov..."of the peaple, by the peaple, for the peaple...if you really think that is what we have today, you are VERY MISTAKEN.What we have now is a GOV, bought and paid for by the very large, very powerfull, CORPORATIONS...and guess what? Your vote does not count for squat! Most persons do not like to read posts like this, because they might have to either think, or get off their duffs and do something.I think we are in deep, deep kimchi, and that Gov knows there is a terrible catastrophe heading our way, we have heard this all before, havnt we? You ever think the "false alarms" might be for those with enough smarts to know that we are not immune from a natural disaster, just because we are ASmericans? You think the dinosaurs had time to be concerned, when they saw the fireball? I can see all the laughter now, but if only one person was to think, maybe the guy is not nuts, maybe I had better put away some food, water, water filters, ammo, meds, candles, sleeping bags...maybe I had better get educated. So many on this board are of the Christian persuasion, do you think old Noah was laughed at? I guarantee you he was....AND I Guarantee you this, America, and the rest of the world, as we know it...is soon to be toast.

Laughter does not surprise me...I should know better than to try, I can take care of me and mine...do you know that if even one thing were to happen, such as Yellowstone erupting, the good ole USA would be history? I know this would be an imposition on your fishing time, but do a search on Yellowstone, see what you come up with, we are sitting ducks for many things...anyone ever hear of ole Murphy? Baaa

3. If God isn't, as you claim, sending messages to people belonging to organized religion, why should we believe God is sending messages to people who've built their own religion? In other words, why should we believe that God is giving apocalyptic messages to one guy to save himself and his loved ones, and the other 6 billion are completely wrong and doomed?
4. Do some research into Guadalupe and Fatima, just to name a couple. Guadalupe resulted in the conversion of literally millions within the space of a few years. Here is a brief summary.

Fatima was witnessed by thousands.

Re: skewed outrage
Feisty --- I appreciate the sincerity of your concerns. I too agree that the likelihood of a terrible event occuring in the U.S. is high, but I am convinced that it will originate from terrorists. I only hope that we are doing enough to minimize that threat.
Other than laying in a supply of survival goods, what do you think that we should be doing differently?

Re: skewed outrage
Big difference between Noah and yourself feisty one. Noah was directed by GOD to prepare for what was coming. Your information is from.......? Not to moch you or anything but your reference seem a bit....well....way the heck out there to put it bluntly.
You may want to consider moving to Grants Pass (no insult intended against those that live there mind you) since it is known for survivalist activities.
Now, where did I put my tin-foil hat?

Re: skewed outrage
Hi, Happybrew, I am surprized that the term Churchianity would be construed as being derogatory, as it is not meant in that particular way, it simply refers to organized religion w/o The Christos in it, we have an organization, but He is gone, has been for a long time. There is a "Form of Godliness, but...", I think others know the rest of the quote. Semantics, anyway, I am glad to see/hear that there are others of the survivalist mentality, not expecting Big Brother to bail them out when the whatever hits the proverbial fan. Went up to the Cow on Sat with my 3 yr old, and 6yr old, very few smelt, hope it gets better.

Re: skewed outrage
Hi, Woody, like your moniker. Y2K was my wake-up, and were it not for the tremendous ammounts of money and time put inti it, there would have been a problem. That was my wake-up...go to another site called whatdoesitmean.com...check that out, and listen to the Real-player version of the interviews. "God" does not always send a wake-up call to the Churchianity community, ussualy because they are too steeped in their particulay paradigm. I know sometyhing really horrible is coming opur way, just not quite sure what, but it is either nuclear, biological, natural...or maybe a combination of all three....wouldnt that be fun? I want to be able to take care of my family, and to that end I prepare

Feisty, nothing personal, OK. It's just that I've seen this before. Lot's of things "might" happen, from nuclear accidents, to asteroids, to some sort of armed uprising. I've chosen to not let it consume me. I am well prepared for any sort of emergency, food, water, ammo, etc. But other than that, I don't want to live my life looking over my shoulder.

How many times has the world supposed to have come to an end? Sure, I guess there is always potential for that kind of ending, just like you may be hit by a drunk the next time you walk across the street. Truth is, nobody knows..I would hae to live my life in fear of it suddenly ending.
