Default Dodge SLT V-10

I am looking at a 1998 Dodge 2500 SLT Long bed with a V-10, it only has 54,000 miles on it. Looks and runs well.

Does anyone own (or have owned) one of these. Just looking for a little feedback, I'm out shopping and came across this truck and it looks like a pretty good deal.

Thanks, Scott

Anybody????

How about if I tell a fishing story?

Or promise a sturgeon trip for info?

Although after my last trip, I can tell you what NOT to do! Don't go searching for new areas when you know where the fish are.

Thanks for any help.
Scott

I have the V-8, and my buddy has the V-10. The only difference is HIS fuel bill is WAY more than mine, but he has a small percentage more towing power. I think he said you can actually watch the fuel guage move when passing uphill!!!
Neither of us have had any repair problems thus far. [knock on wood]

edit: diesel is a far better option, IMO

I have a 98 Dodge Durango for what that's worth. Different engine...but same brand and year. Had to get some work done on it last month, $550. First expense in 6 years.

Does that qualify for the sturgeon trip??

See, I knew that would get some response! Thanks guys, and yes that does qualify for a sturgeon trip, I am out this weekend and next (just can't convince my better half to go sturgeon fishing on Valentine's day!), but the following weekend (the 21st) I will be going. Let me know if you would like to tag along.

Thanks, Scott

I understand Dodge has discontinued the V10, at least in their trucks. You might still be able to get it in the Viper.

I was planning on fishing Saturday...but sturgeon would be fun. I dont have gear though. :depressed: However, I'd be willing to pay for gas and bait.

Only catch is that I'd have to be back home by 6 (shouldnt be a big deal since it gets dark early).

No big deal either way... PM me and let me know.

Just got back from lunch, I will send you a message and figure out the details. No problem on the gear, bait or gas, I have all the bait and gear we could possibly need, and I was going anyway so don't sweat the gas. Looking forward to meeting another Ifisher!

Talk to you later,
Scott

V-10 uses alot of gas. If you really want a dodge get one with a cummins diesel 18MPG and will tow anything and you can run red diesel for $1.15 a gallon!
