Going to Kauai in December

Any recommendations on flies, spots, fly gear, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is some pretty decent bone fishing on Kauai. I think the spring/summer months are better but if you head over there, give Rob Arita a call. Even if he can't take you out he can point you in the right direction.

There's even a rainbow trout season up in the swamp, although I believe it's in September...

Theres a bulletin board there with a bunch of guys always talking about spots on all the HW islands. You can search the archives or aks. Some of the guides from over there are even on there. Ive fished with Louie the Fish and enjoyed his company. If you can get a guide for a day they will show you the spots then you can try it on your own.
