Big Macks at Crescent 11-21
For the 3rd weekend in a row I managed to find a good weather window in an other wise nasty week. Joining me today were Dan (Two Fister) and JJ. We had the whole lake to ourselves today. Got there about 7:30 to see partly cloudy skies 21 degrees and a medium chop on the water. After about 2 hours we got our 1st fish. I brought in a laker about 10lbs. Right after that JJ's rod went off and he had a big one on. It took him a while to get this guy in. I finally netted it and Dan took the pictures.
We weighed it and released it. 23 lbs. JJ's biggest mack ever. The picture doesn't do it justice.
Then Dan got his first mack ever. About 15 lbs. It was hooked pretty bad and bleeding so we kept one today.
I got 2 more including this pig.

We didn't weigh him but he looked close to 20 if not more. We finshed the day with 6 to the boat and lost 2 including a huge takedown on Dan's rod that bit his lure off. The lake got pretty calm till about 2 and we saw the next storm building to the west so we called it a day. The ramp was almost completely free of snow by the time we pulled out. I'll be back on the lake Thanksgiving for 4 days. We will have a cabin at the resort. I may have an open seat for someone on Saturday........... Shoot me a pm and we can talk.

Some pigs for sure! Good luck on your up coming trip, maybe stuffed laker instead of turkey on Thanksgiving day?

Yes, we caught them all on downriggers. They can also be caught flatlining in the shallow water this time of year and early spring as well.

Okay, I'm excited, the toads are out at Crescent. Looking forward to getting out on the lake again... warm clothes, etc.
